Series Wrap-Up

Bishop's Orchard Cross in Guilford CT did not disappoint! A full night of rain made for an epic and challenging course for all the fields.The event did a great job adjusting to the tough conditions.

In the series battles that were still up for grabs, there was some exciting action on the final day of the 2018 CTCX series. Here is a recap and report of how all divisions ended.

PRO,1,2,3

In the Pro1,2,3 field, Cheshire Cycle Racing's Hunter Pronovost wrapped the top title for a second year in a row. Coakley Jopling finished in second place with Brendan McCormack taking third.

WOMEN'S PRO,1,2,3

Stage 1's Kelli Montgomery had a strong final race and was able to hold on to the top step. Caitrin Huysman had a good race in Guilford and was able to jump into 2nd place overall.

MENS 40+

Eneas Freyre wrapped it up and Brian Girard was able to hold off Joe Kubisek to take second place.

MENS 50+

Michael Wonderly wins and while Michael Parent finished better than Wade Summers at Bishops, the Horst rider held onto 2nd place.

MENS 60+

ERRACE's Dave "Rusty" Rustico wins going away. William Thompson takes 2nd place and in a last minute come from behind, David Goodwin overtook Paul Hermes in the overall scoring to secure 3rd place in the series.

CAT 3

Anthony Vecca takes the title and Karel Citroen took 2nd. Jeff Gelt finished in 3rd place.

WOMEN'S 3,4,5

Ruth Spooner took the title despite not racing a couple of the events. Kristin Anderson in 2nd place and then Adele Paquin in 3rd place.

CAT 4

Ben Nafis took 3rd in the final race and that was enough to hold off a hard-charging Brooks Nablo, who won the final 2 races of the series. Steve Sadler of Newington Bike takes 3rd.

NOTABLE JUNIOR REPORTS

In the Girls 12-14 field, in came down to the wire! With a victory in the final race, Aeryn Northway was able to tie Teagan Geran in overall points. Northway gets the tops step as the higher placed finisher in the final race. Sadie Rueckert took 3rd place.

The Boys 15-18 also was up for grabs and with a solid third place, Nic Villamizar stayed out in fron of Ryan Zwick, who took 4th on the day.
